From A Reader -- MRO -- Bailey Oil Field -- Section 18-146-93 -- August 22, 2022

Not sure if you heard about this progress from readers or seen yourself in Bailey field, so thought I’d contribute what I been following. Use or do as you like with this information. I tried to limit in length, but they’re my standard notes.

MRO/Marathon: LOC = Bailey Field, Surface Section-18-146/93

Narrative: These 14 wells were spud in 2021, they had to shut-in around 8 producing wells in 3 sections (6, 7, 18) that I know of for months to spud, drill laterals & stimulate, most likely more were shut-in. That’s the O/G business. Then, the April double blizzard situation happened since spuddings & these particular 14 new wells in section 18 were slowed down in the finishing stages. Additionally, MRO wasn’t only drilling in section 18 146/93, so the blizzards were a hurdle to jump, twice. MRO was also developing in 146/94 nearby & other locations. Lynn Helms had mentioned in public communications that some operators had many wells in process during the two 4/2022 blizzards, MRO Bailey fits that profile. I’m impressed they’re done, some are better than others, all great for the ND O/G industry, interest owners & the ND economy. These 14 were placed mostly on existing well pads, but the Stone pad I know is definitely new with 5 new wells. All 14 are producing except 38592-38593, they’re on the Stone pad with 3 other wells. 38591 is named Stone 44-7TFH. These 14 are on 3 pads in the northern portion of section 18. My guess is July will show production on the last 2 but who knows for certain, July or August is my guess.

Updated Field information: In 146/93/18, 14 new wells are all but 2 or 12 total are currently showing production. About 1-2 have had production 3-5 months, the rest 1-3 tops. The well file numbers are below. There’s a photograph attached with a Findwell (or well search) table view of these section 18 new wells with well names. Woodrow through Weekes are the 14 newbies in this update.

WFN/Well File Numbers: 14

38536, 38537, 38538, 38539, 38571, 38572, 38573, 38574, 38587, 38589, 38590 (**38590 has top 1 month production (51749) 6-2022), 38591, 38592, 38593. A few others are in the 40k BOPM range.

Spacing Units/SU’s: For these wells I’m seeing 1280 or 2560 acre units. MRO & NDIC do a decent job of correlative rights in my opinion. We all want a minimum sized spacing unit so we get a better NRI calculation for profits, however, as lengths of laterals increase we see larger spacing units. Lynn Helms talks like he likes 1920 acre SU’s, which depending on the geology & geography makes sense. 3 mile laterals do bring better EUR’s, in most cases using today’s technology. The most recent August video blog he said 4 mile laterals haven’t occurred yet, but operators may try.
