Future? Three thousand bbls in four days works out to 22,000 bbls over 30 days. That generally does not happen, but 3,000 bbls in four days is not trivial.

Random Look At Recent Frac Strategies In The Bakken -- August 16, 2017

I started following this story in March, 2017, when it was being reported that operators were using increasing amounts of proppant (sand) to frack their wells. I was not seeing that in the Bakken so I was curious to track it. By late July, 2017, I had lost interest. I didn't see a lot of difference in the amount of sand being used, except perhaps in some EOG wells. EOG was clearly an outlier, but even EOG did not consistently use larger amounts of sand.

Now this Reuters story over at Rigzone.

Data from the Bakken. I did not include DUCs because data was not often available at the time the well was reported. It is very possible operators used more sand in DUCs. I don't know.

Not all wells were captured between the start date in March and the last well reported in July but I assume I caught most of them.

The fourth column is the number of stages, and the fifth column is the amount of sand used, in millions of lbs.
