XTO's Rink 13-4ESH -- #21786 -- September 3, 2017

Back on August 6, 2017, I posted a note regarding this well:

The note was pretty complete. I wanted to post the full production profile as well as the note from the reader.

Here’s another example of the “halo/shut-in effect."  The Rink SE (#21786) was shut-in for about two years while other wells were drilled from this pad. 

The original frack zone had a chance to re-charge in addition to the recent fracking halo of nearby wells.  In June, this well produced over 24,000 barrels of oil.  It’s best month when completed in 2012 was less than half this volume.  

This is a Three-Forks 1 well in the Garden Field north of Watford City.

The entire production history of this well is posted below. Note how relatively "poor" the production was following the original frack back in 2012:

• best month: 11,393 bbls in May, 2012
• quick decline: down to 2,000 bbls/month within the year

• Then it was taken off-line from 4/15 to 5/17 (slightly more that two years). Note the production when placed back on-line after being shut in for two years: 
• 24,207 bbls / month in June, 2017

We'll have to wait a few months to see if production holds.

FracFocus has no data suggesting this well was re-fracked. The most recent sundry forms suggest that this well was only going to be returned to production after in-fill wells were completed. There was nothing to suggest this well was going to be refracked.
